Victory gardens were planted in backyards and on apartment-building rooftops and in vacant lots. 40% of all the produce consumed in the US, Canada and the UK were grown in these gardens. If you were left on the home front during the years of WWI and WWII, Victory gardening would have been a part of your daily life as well as one of the most patriotic things you could do. After the wars were over, the government no longer campaigned for Victory Gardens to be created and they slowly faded away. But in the trying times we are currently facing, it is time to bring the Victory Garden back!
